Brothers and Sisters,

During our previous main service, we got to witness our fellow brother Shane Wolf as he openly committed his life to Heavenly service through baptism.

Last Sunday

Last Sunday was a historic night for Church on Mill.  We enjoyed a wonderful evening of testimonies of God’s work, welcoming new members, praying, and fellowship. Additionally, by a stunning 99% vote of affirmation, the proposed bylaws were adopted. We give our deepest thanks for your thoughtful involvement in this process. The Transition Team was also formed and each member unanimously placed on the team: Scott Wakefield, Todd Diehl, and Kent Hardy (joining Pastor Chuck). Thank you again for taking the time to read our bylaw proposals and giving your Sunday evening for the sake of the Church on Mill. Here is last Sunday’s sermon conclusion to the “God’s Church God’s Way” series if you missed it.

Begin thinking about which members you believe would make great elders and deacons. You can email transition team [com-transition] with recommendations or share them in upcoming worship gatherings. Prospective deacon and elder classes will begin in late October.

Instructing a Child’s Heart

Author, pastor, and excellent speaker Tedd Tripp will be visiting Cornerstone Mesa very, very soon, so mark your calendars for this opportune conference on October 2nd from 6:30pm-9:15pm, and October 3rd from 8:30am-12:30pm. Here, you can learn some of the most valuable parenting information you could ever hear in any environment, while surrounded by other friends who are there for the very same purpose. The price is $50 per couple and $30 per individual, so please register soon.  Parents, mentors, grandparents, youth/children workers would all benefit from this weekend.

Stories from Asia

Have a heart for God’s name to be lifted in all nations? Have dreams of disciplemaking on the other side of the world? Remember our partners in Asia, former residents and members?  If so please come to the college building on September 25th (Friday) at 7:00pm to hear some testimonies of mission and evangelism in Asia, right from the members of our very own church family! Who knows? This could be just the inspiration you need to make a difference.

Bake Sale

A portion of every dollar you give to the Church on Mill budget goes to help spread the gospel overseas. Additionally, church members sacrifice to travel on short-term trips to encourage our mission partners and aid them in their long-term work. Before this Sunday’s Connection Classes our next team headed overseas (to Scotland to work with Niddrie Community Church) will host a collection of art, jewelry, and Scottish treats on the auditorium’s front patio. If you’d like to support this group in addition to your regular giving, consider showing up a few minutes early to talk with the team members, buy a treat, and support individual members who are headed overseas in just a few weeks.

After enjoying some time with the Scotland Team, we will begin our new sermon series, “Prayer: Moving from Duty to Delight.” The focus of the series is self-explanatory: it will teach us the specific mechanics on how to pray by looking at the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:5-13. We will dive into this Sunday with the lesson “The Problem of Prayer,” and we will continue on this topic until November 22nd– just in time for Thanksgiving.

With much love,

Trevor Pacelli, Ministry Intern
