Alison Fisher was recommended on March 5th as a Deacon Candidate. On March 19th during our Members Meeting, church members will vote. The following is her testimony explaining how and why she feels called to be a deacon.

Hello everyone. My name is Alison Fisher or Ali. I have been a part of Church on Mill since I was a freshman in high school. I became a member in 2003. I have grown up in this church. I have held babies that are now adults. I met my husband here and am raising my boys here. Throughout my college and adult life Church on Mill has been there to support and love me in my lowest lows and highest highs. Being a part of this church has meant so much to me and my family.

I have been involved with preschool or children’s ministry since I became a member. From helping with VBS to kids camp to youth camp to everything in between. I took a brief step back when life got to be too much. I am now helping in preschool ministry again. I hold sweet babies and make sure we have all our volunteers for Sunday. When the elders approached me about being the Deacon or Volunteering and recruitment for preschool and childrens, I was caught a little off guard, how could someone like me be qualified for the role. After going through the Deacon class I learned about the servant heart of a deacon and the role they play in helping their elders and the body of the church. I will never be perfect, only Jesus is, but I am ready to serve our Elders and the church in this role. I love being a part of this church who loves the babies, children, youth, college and families so well. I pray that I can fulfill this role in his glory.
