Dear Church Family,

1 Samuel 17:1-58

Last Sunday Chuck took us through a familiar passage, David and Goliath. Goliath was an impossible foe that stood against God and the Israelites. When none had the courage to face him, a young man named David stepped up, knowing that this battle was the Lord’s and that he would bring victory over Goliath. In what must have seemed like a suicide mission, God used the weakness of David to triumph over Goliath and save the Israelites from certain defeat. This story points forward to the picture of Christ, the true champion, who triumphed over Death, the impossible foe, that you and I could never defeat. You can check out the sermon here.

VBS

Vacation Bible School is going on this week. Please be in prayer for the kids that they might hear the gospel clearly and that God would bring salvation to them. Pray for the parents as children go home and share the things they are learning with them. And finally pray for our volunteers who are working diligently, that they would have the strength to continue serving the kids this week.
