The Book of Galatians
What is the greatest threat to your walk with Jesus? And what’s the greatest threat to our shared life as a church? Perhaps surprisingly, the threat is not the loss of Christian influence in the public square, the explosive power of secular culture, or the rapid growth of hostility toward biblical Christianity in the West. No, our greatest threat is the abandonment of the gospel of Jesus Christ – the gospel of grace – through which sinners are made right with God. This abdication of the gospel is not a new threat. Every Christian and every church will face it. In fact, the book of Galatians gets right to the heart of this gospel because Christians in the first century were confused and turning from it. Galatians is worthy of our careful study, reflection, and complete trust, for by treasuring the grace of Christ together, we will not only be spared from the perils of walking away from the gospel, but we will also be refreshed anew by God’s great love for us.
