Dear Church Family,
Last Sunday
Imagine a branch that wanted to be independent—a branch that was certain it could bear more fruit if only it disconnected itself from the vine. Last Sunday looking at John 15:1-17 we discovered the key to real, lasting change. Simply put, for change to occur, we must be connected to the source of change. Jesus claims to be that source. He is the true vine, and we are the branches. We are nourished and bear the fruit of love only when we are abiding in him. For a branch, freedom from the vine is a death sentence. But the one who depends on Jesus will see the increasing fruit of Christ-likeness to the glory of God. What one thing can you do today to be abiding in Jesus?
New Gospel Community (GC)
Gospel communities are small groups that meet to encourage each other in the gospel and in mission for God’s glory. Last week we got to hear from the Linebergers and Wakefields and their heart to start a new GC. If you are not plugged into a GC, please consider joining them this Sunday from 5:30 – 8pm at the Linebergers’ home. For more information, see here.
Is God Anti-gay?
That’s the sort of question that will make a room go quiet (or else really loud). It is also the question addressed by Christian author and speaker Sam Allberry. Come be equipped to better understand and think about this critical issue on March 16th from 7 – 8:30pm at Trinity Bible Church. To register and learn more about this free event, see here.
Your brother in Christ,
