Brothers and Sisters,
Last Sunday
I enjoyed hearing Darryl Delhousaye speak to us about how the Lord hears and answers prayer. He is such an engaging speaker who knows how to hit all the right corners of the subject in ways that helps us understand. You can listen to his sermon here if you didn’t get a chance to already. We are thankful for the ministry of Phoenix Seminary in helping prepare leaders for ministry.
New Connection Classes
A new set of 9:30am classes will launch this Sunday, November 22nd.
The first class, Practical Prayer, works through several approaches to getting the most out of prayer. The purpose of this class is to equip you with ways to enrich, inspire, and enlighten your daily prayer life and use it as a way of worship to God. Practical Prayer will be taught by Morgan Roberts in the northeast wing.
The second class, Understanding Advent, explores the definition of the word “advent,” meaning “coming.” This class will look at important spiritual disciplines that explain why advent has been a valued part of Christian tradition for seventeen centuries, a strong reminder of the reason for the valuable time of year that is Christmas. Understanding Advent will be taught by Austin Krause in the southeast wing.
Director of Family Ministries
Just to remind you all about the Stokes family, they will move to Tempe on Monday November 23rd, and Tim starts work on November 30th. When they arrive, please take some time to warmly welcome each of them into our church family.
Rejoice. Pray. Give Thanks.
Boy, do we have a lot going on next Sunday! First, Chuck will end our series on Prayer by talking about Gratitude as the backbone of prayer. The afternoon will be full of GC meetings. Then that evening, 6-8pm, is the Annual COM Thanksgiving Feast, complete with graciously prepared home cooked meals, joyful conversations, and a great devotional and testimony on rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks.
As we move closer to Thanksgiving, please continue to pray about giving a special “Thanksgiving Offering” to the church as a way of praising God for his work through the Church on Mill family.
With much love,
Trevor Pacelli, Ministry Intern
