Dear Church Family,
Last Sunday
What’s on your prayer list? Not all of us keep a literal list, but we all have our go-to items for prayer—a lost friend or family member, healing for a stubborn illness, that elusive future spouse, or perhaps a bit of financial stability. These can all be good things to pray for. But whatever makes your list, take a moment to evaluate it in light of the ideal prayer list. In John 17 we get to listen in on the Son of God praying to his Father. Here are some of Jesus’ requests: 1) that the Father would be glorified; 2) that believers would be one with God and with each other; 3) that they would have the fullness of his joy; 4) that they would be sanctified by his word; 5) that they would know God and be filled with his love; and 6) that the world would believe through their testimony. That’s what Jesus wanted. That’s what he prayed for and gave his life for. What’s on your prayer list?
VBS Volunteers
Vacation Bible School is a wonderful opportunity to invest in the spiritual well-being of our kids and to share the good news of Jesus Christ with children and their families from the community. But none of it can happen without volunteers! Would you consider volunteering with either the elementary or preschool VBS’s from July 16th – 20th, 6:30pm – 8:30pm? Below are listed some of the positions needed. To volunteer or get more information about the positions, please contact Elissa Gruendler at bnegruendler@gmail.com.
Positions needed (multiple for each): Bible Discovery leaders, Kid Vid Cinema leaders, Crew Leaders, Spot Light crew, Snack help, Adult Bible study, Set Designers/Builders, Games, Exploration Stations, Closing Circle Time, Security Check-in/out.
Your brother in Christ,
Phil Hoshiwara
