Dear Church Family,
Last Sunday
Last Sunday Pastor Chuck preached from John 13:31-38. Jesus, hours away from his death, leaves his disciples with a commandment: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another” (v. 34). The “newness” of this commandment is found in the measure of love we are to show one another. We are to love just as Jesus has loved us. And what is the measure of Jesus’s love for us? To answer that, we simply need to look at the cross. Church on Mill, what is the measure of our love for one another? Let’s strive for a “just as” kind of love, that the world may know we are disciples of Jesus!
Membership Class
One way we can show a “just as” kind of love to one another is by committing to help each other grow up in Christ. But what would such a commitment look like? Come to our next Membership Class to find out! We will meet February 24th from 9 am – 4 pm in the West Wing of the Auditorium. If you’re interested, let Gracie Turner know at gracie@churchonmill.org.
“By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us…” (1 John 3:16)
