Dear Church Family,
1 Samuel 2:12-36
Last Sunday we looked at the downfall of Eli’s sons, the priests, Phinehas and Hophni. Instead of serving faithfully, they profaned the sacrifices of the Lord by taking the choice parts of the offering for their own and committing immoral acts before God. For this, God pronounced that he would cut them off and raise up a new faithful priest who would do all according to God’s heart and mind. Meanwhile, God was raising up the boy Samuel who was ministering faithfully before the Lord. Here we saw a picture of Hannah’s prayer play out as the mighty fall and the feeble rise.
