Brothers and Sisters,

Wisdom

Last Sunday, we began our journey through the book of Proverbs, a treasure trove of wisdom much needed in an age of instant gratification and information overload. Pastor Chuck encouraged us that provision for a life of wisdom is made for us in Christ. Listen here, friends.

Would you begin or continue to read a Proverb or more a week during this series? Wisdom is found in God’s living and active Word. We bless one another as we read the Proverbs and then gather for conversation and prayer about what we are learning in community. Consider joining a GC if you don’t have one for even more conversation on Proverbs. Let’s prepare our hearts and minds to hear from God through the preaching of His Word and already be filled with it, even when we arrive on Sunday mornings. This is going to be such a great series!

Retreats Prayer

Would you pray for our youth and college students and those leading these areas of ministry at Church on Mill, specifically Erik Naylor, our Director of College Ministries, and Tim Stokes, our Director of Family Ministries? Both crews and their leaders are headed out this weekend for some intentional time to learn, be encouraged, and prepare for the year ahead. Our college students will be at the Radiate conference in Los Angeles, and our youth will be retreating in Payson. Here’s an idea: grab your church directory or hop on Facebook and find a youth or college student to pray for by name this weekend. Then find them when they return and ask them what God is teaching them. Members, God has given us such a unique opportunity to be a blessing to young people.

Members Meeting

Make plans to attend our January Members Meeting coming up on Sunday, January 24th at 6pm. It will be an important time to look ahead to an exciting year of ministry at Church on Mill. This is an important and distinct gathering from our weekly Sunday morning times of worship and teaching. Don’t miss out.  There’s several things we’ll be rejoicing over, important issues to pray about, and items to discern together as a church family. Guests you are welcome to attend: members you are expected and much needed. We need you there!

Worship Leadership Summit

One last thing: Be praying for our faithful family members who serve as members of the audio and tech crew, build our liturgy, and lead us in our worship gathering week in and week out. These vital individuals will gather this Sunday at Church on Mill’s first Worship Leadership Summit immediately following the Worship Gathering. They will pray, plan and brainstorm ways to continue to lead us into Spirit and truth-filled worship in the New Year. Pray for these faithful family members.

With love,

Julie
