Brothers and Sisters,

Sunday’s gathering was encouraging and provided great insight to the ever illusive challenge of understanding God’s Will.  Christians sometimes spend an extraordinary amount of time looking for God’s will of direction we forget that there is plenty to focus on that God has made plain in Scripture.  In focusing on what God has made plan for all believers—God’s will of desire—we then naturally drift into a better understanding of direction.  As Pastor Chuck mentioned “[We] are free from the burden of trying to swindle from God something he hasn’t promised to give.”  We are called to trust as he exercises His sovereignty over our lives.  He does what is best for us by functioning out of his good pleasures rather than our changing wants.  This does not neglect that we have tough decisions to make but removes anxiety from the process.  If you are needing to make a decision take a few minutes and work through the principles of planning discussed Sunday and meet with a trusted brother or sister to pray.  As you abide in Jesus you will be cared for by him.

Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.  Proverbs 15:22

Good Friday and Easter Worship Gatherings

This week, known as Holy Week, marks one of the most contemplative times for us as believer as we reflect on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus (Matt 21-28).  Let this week stir your affections deeply for Jesus.  Consider walking through this free resource with your family or another brother or sister to guide your reflection this week.

Here are a few details you need to know in regards to the various activities happening this week. We will share a light meal together on Good Friday at 6pm and then worship and reflect on the sacrifice of Christ.  There will be activities for kids through 4th grade from 6:30-7:30pm. In preparation for this gathering might you begin the process of thinking where sin has been left unattended to fester and create apathy in you.  If there is hurt, unforgiveness, or lack of reconciliation with a member let the death of Christ put to death those things and seek reconciliation in preparation for taking the Lord’s Supper together.

Plan on joining us at 10am Easter Sunday for light refreshments (no Connection Classes) and then our Worship Gathering at 10:45am as we celebrate Christ, our Risen Savior.  Kids activities will be provided as normal during the worship gathering. Pray and invite someone this week to gather with us as we celebrate the work of Christ that brings our healing!
