Church Family,

Last Sunday

Each day, we have voices coming at us from a thousand places that say they can give us security and satisfaction. We are told by money, by relationships, by hair products, and by countless other avenues that we can find true rest and safety in the good earthly life they promise to provide. However, out of their proper place under the authority of God, these things care nothing for us and only nurture our destruction. Listen to the sermon from this past Sunday to see how David’s kingship gives us a picture of a refuge that promises everything…and delivers it.

Summer Study

Tonight (July 3rd), there is no Summer Study for the 4th of July holiday tomorrow. We will be back on next week to continue exploring 1 John together.

New Connection Classes

This Sunday, our church family will begin a new round of Connection Classes. At 9:30 am, join in for What We Believe to dive into the proposed Membership Statement of Faith. At 11:15 am, come to learn more about how we see Jesus to be the fulfillment of all of the Scriptures. Both classes will take place in the Christian Challenge building.

Membership Statement of Faith

During our May Members Meeting, our elders asked members to consider adopting a proposed Membership Statement of Faith into our church Constitution. We are already halfway through the summer, so please do take a detailed look at it if you have not yet. Consider incorporating it into your devotional routine and looking at some of the Scriptures that accompany it. Write down any questions, comments, or concerns you have and join us for a Q&A Discussion Forum on July 28th at 3:00 pm in the West Wing.

Staff Transition

For the past year, Brandon Reimus has been serving on staff as a Collegiate and Pastoral Resident. His residency concluded on June 30th, and he has now transitioned to a permanent staff position as Director of Christian Challenge, the American arm of our collegiate ministry. Ask him about his new role and hear more about it during our August 25th Members Meeting.

“He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32. We have a God who has given us the most precious of things. May we now trust him each day for all things.

Your sister,

Gracie
