Dear Church Family,

Last Sunday

The search for happiness is universal, but how many people actually find it? Last week we heard the secret to happiness from Psalm 1: “Happy is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night” (v. 1-2). Would you be happy? Don’t turn to the things of this world, but set your mind and heart on God’s word. Like a tree by the water, you will find your soul nourished and made steadfast, bearing the fruit of righteousness. As we gaze upon our happy God in his word, we will find ourselves increasingly filled with his joy as we are changed into his likeness.

Youth Testimony

Last Sunday we got to hear a testimony from Caleb Skinner, who recently returned from youth camp. He shared about the strong community among the youth that was formed, and the meaningful times of worship and hearing God’s word. Thank you for all that you invest in our youth as a church family!

Pastor Chuck’s Sabbatical

Pastor Chuck will be in Colorado from 6/28 – 7/29 for a sabbatical given to him by the church. This is a time of focused prayer, study, rest, and ministry planning. Pray for his time, that it would be refreshing and fruitful. During his absence Gracie Turner will be monitoring his email, and several people from Church on Mill will be filling the pulpit. Thank you for the gift of this sabbatical that allows pastor Chuck to be filled up in order that he might better pour out and serve the body of Christ.

Your brother in Christ,

Phil Hoshiwara
