I have exciting news to share with you. Tim Stokes was voted in by our church this morning by a near unanimous vote to be our new Director of Family Ministries, and he quickly agreed! He and his wonderful family were here much of this past week getting to know us better as we learned more about him. Everyone I spoke with was enthusiastically positive about him in this role.
Like you, I’m very excited to have him begin. But, there are still a few details that need to be sorted out, namely a start date. They did some preliminary looking for a place to stay while they were here, and Linoshca also is busy interviewing for work as well. We’ll keep you updated on an official move and start date (which won’t be long from now), but in the meantime I wanted to let you all know this exciting news before too much time had passed.
In our excitement and anticipation, may I suggest a few things? First, please be praying for Tim and his family as they make this move – it’s an exciting time for them and it will be a big change for them as well.
Second, please consider now how you can invest in their family and in our family ministry. Now is not the time to pause in our servitude – we must press forward and continue to serve in this ministry area as Christ so graciously serves us! For Tim’s ministry to our families to be successful, he will need your active support.
Third, please especially thank Alison Fisher, Megan Roberts, Jessica Oaks, David Oaks, and Allison Buelt as they continue to serve as Volunteer Ministry Coordinators. They have a big job in loving our kids and families well through organizing, finding new volunteers, and serving. They’ve done well and are deserving of our thanks.
Finally, if there is any way that I can personally serve you, please let me know. I’d love the opportunity to help.
