Dear Church Family,

Last Sunday

Last week in John 18:12-27 we saw a display of contrasts. Jesus openly teaches the truth—the high priests conduct a secret trial to conceal the truth. Jesus remains a faithful witness concerning himself and the Father—Peter denies the Christ. The contrasts, while painful, help us to understand that Jesus is the true high priest and faithful witness. It is a sad reality that very often our lives are more easily contrasted with than likened to our Savior’s. We deny him with our words and actions when he bears witness. We are self-serving when he is sacrificial. But praise God that Jesus is not only the high priest and faithful witness, but also the willing sacrifice. Brothers and sisters, the “contrasts” have been undone by the work of Christ. Now may we work by his grace to increase the likeness!

Financial Update

Thank you for your faithful giving for the good of Christ’s body and the sake of his expanding kingdom. Cheerful and sacrificial giving flows out of Christ’s own glad sacrifice, and points us to our true and lasting treasure. Currently, we are $4500 behind the annual budget. As we move into the summer (generally a financial low-point in the year), we encourage continued sacrifice in this area of stewardship. Your generosity makes the various ministries of Church on Mill possible, such as missionary support, International and college work, VBS, youth camps, and much more. To give online, click here.

Your brother in Christ,
