Brothers and sisters,

I am grateful to call you my family in Christ!

Sermon Recap

Last Sunday we continued our series on the five solas, honing in on the great truth of Solus Christus. Christ alone. Dr. John Meade took us through Hebrews 10:1-25 where we saw the sufficiency of Christ’s sacrifice and priesthood. The priests under the old covenant were many, worked ceaselessly, offered sacrifices repetitively, and yet could “never…perfect those who draw near” (v. 1). But in the new covenant, Christ, the one high priest, offers himself as a single sacrifice for sins, and sits down at the Father’s right hand, having “perfected for all time those who are being sanctified” (v. 14). The result? We draw near to worship the living God corporately and confidently because of Christ’s perfect sacrifice.

Dr. Meade asked us, what “plastic gospels” are you believing? What impostors are you trusting to bring you peace? The peace we so desperately need is peace with God, and only Christ has accomplished that. Christ alone!

2 Weeks

We are fast approaching our August 6th launch date for 2 Gatherings! I am excited to see what God will do to reach our community with the good news of Jesus Christ! Services will begin at 9:30 and 11:15 am, and connection classes will be offered during both times. Invitation cards to the services will be on your seats on Sunday, so consider who you might invite. If you have questions about 2 Gatherings, be sure to attend the Q&A session right after the service on July 23rd.

We are so grateful for the countless ways that many of you serve one another and use your gifts to strengthen this church family. As you continue to do this, the whole body benefits and continues to grow up into him who is the head—Christ! If you are still looking for a way to serve, feel free to check out the opportunities and send us an email to let us know.

Property Clean-up Day

On July 29th (Saturday) from 8 – 12 pm, we will be cleaning the church property inside and out. We will have jobs for every skill level, donuts, and coffee. We will meet at the church office—all are welcome!

Your brother in Christ,

Phil Hoshiwara
