Brothers and Sisters,

What a joy it is to worship our Lord together, striving side by side for the faith of the gospel. I truly am filled with gratitude on Sunday mornings as I hear so many voices going up to the Lord in praise and thanksgiving. It’s such a priviledge to gather with brothers and sisters in Christ to worship our King and share God’s message with non-believers.

Last Sunday

Last Sunday in our worship gathering we reflected on God’s powerful and merciful work to give us new spiritual life. Apart from any work of our own, we have been born of the Spirit into the new humanity of God’s people, having received a living hope in the Christ, awaiting an imperishable inheritance.  That’s deep theology, so to make it a bit more simple: God’s message creates God’s people.  And as God’s people we love like God loves us.

Church, may we continue to grow up into love. From infancy to adolescence to mature adulthood, let us increasingly be a people who “love one another earnestly from a pure heart” (1 Peter 1:22).  It is by God’s love seen in us that many will come to hear God’s message.

Wednesday Night Activities

As a church we are committed to equipping people to be disciples who make disciples.  One way we do this is through Wednesday night training classes.  Read more about these below.

This Wednesday (Jan 18th) at 6:30 pm DiscipleMakers 2 and 4 will meet in the Christian Challenge building and College building respectively. The youth group and children’s group will also meet at this time in the Youth building and Children’s building.

If you’ve not yet completed these classes we encourage you to come get equipped in the Lord!  If you’ve completed them consider using Wednesday nights this spring to meet up with another person or two to read the Bible and pray together.

College Students

Many of our college students enjoyed a great weekend away for winter conference last weekend.  If you are a college student remember that DiscipleMakers 1 launches for you this week on Monday and Tuesday nights.

“May the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints” (1 Thessalonians 3:12-14).

Your brother in Christ,

Phil Hoshiwara
